A lot has been said about OLB but I think the TED ILB is in just as dire need of immediate help. Curtis Lofton (6'0" 246) would be a perfect TED ILB. He's a big hitter, solid as a rock, terrific instincts and production (Big-12 Defensive Player of the Year), just the perfect strong-side ILB. His workout numbers will push him out of the first round, but I doubt he'll last to the 3rd. Although selecting him at number 39 might be a tad high, he would immediately step in alongside Willis and give us a terrific inside duo for years to come.
1st: OLB Quentin Groves
2nd: ILB Curtis Lofton
3rd: OT Carl Nicks
4th: NT Athyba Rubin
I'd rather take an OLB in the 1st rather than an OT, because a 3rd-round OLB might not even make the roster against our current stable of OLBs (TBC, Haralson, Moore), whereas a 3rd-round OT is likely to be better than Duckett and could even get some playing time if JJ gets injured again. Rubin in the 4th gives us depth at NT with Soap moving to DE.
