The offensive line is still unsettled. I wouldn't be suprised to see Rachal as an opening day starter if Baas is not fully back from injury. They also may just want to keep Snyder as a top backup because he can play multiple positions. I heard an interview with McCloughan where he said they view Rachal as mainly a G.
The Jennings situation sucks because he'd actually be pretty decent at RT, but he cannot be counted on. I get the feeling that if they bench him, they might as well cut him. He'll mope and they wont get anything out of him anyway. Might as well wait until he gets injured again.
I agree with what you're saying about the WR position. I really hoped they'd add a quality WR this draft to develop behind Bruce, but the coaching staff doesn't feel like they have that kind of time. If Bruce has 1 more year in him there will be a mess next year with only Battle and Hill under contract.
I'm starting to get discouraged by Vernon Davis. In some ways he's great, but I don't think I've ever seen him make a tough catch. With such shaky QB play it's hard to tell, but I don't think he does much to make a QB's life easier in terms of being a safety valve.
