This team was horrible last year. Even the games they won, they could have easily lost, outside of that Cincy game. Their defense, with all the money spent on FA were still in the lower half of the league. I know they were on the field alot but even based on normal play, they were not top-20 statistically. And their offense was one of the worst in NFL history. I think they have the talent to do better, but I thought they had the talent last year to win 10 games.
There are three major keys IMO...Alex Smith has GOT to come through - he's got to have a mindset that 30 pts/gm is a possibility every game; Their O-Line has to protect the QB, whomever it is; and their D has to get to the QB - they should have at least three guys with at least 8 sacks each. If all three of these areas happen "consistently", I think they can win 10 games.
