Rodgers has the good fortune of starting with one of the top teams in the NFC. Smith's career has been butchered so far: He get's thrown to the lions his first year with crappy talent around him, a no-win situation for him. He improves in year two. He has a horrible offensive coordinator in year three. Four OCs in four years...no one should have to go through that...also with a rookie head coach as well. And now, JTO is getting more plays because he's got a year's jump on this offense - that's it. Nolan has his head up his rear. How can Nolan compare the three QBs on a level playing field? Also, Rodgers has been learning behind one of the best QBs of all time. I'm sure if Smith had been groomed behind Montana or Young and given that much talent around him, he'd be doing much better. It's easy to look scared in the pocket when your team gives up 55 sacks last year and has the most predictable offense in the league.
