Crennel has already mentioned that at the end of the season, they plan on trading either Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn. We should at least inquire and offer a similar package of 2 future 2nder's for Quinn, similar to the Schaub trade a couple years back.

We're at the point, if Smith isn't our answer for the future, we should plan now to bring in another and have them carry the clipboard for a year in preparation for the next. Perhaps include Smith and a 2nd rounder so that they a backup for the year.

I'm not a JTO supporter, but its evident, if Smith does take several years to get to a level of an avg. QB, that won't work here. Give him an opportunity to shine elsewhere and bring in someone like Quinn who can at least throw to a WR in stride.
