Think about the best teams in the league right now, the Patriots have Scott Pioli (who brought in Moss, Brady... pretty much that entire fucking team), Green Bay has Ted Thompson who put the foot down on Brett Favre (for good or bad it was great for Mike McCarthy to not get involved), even Miami has fucking Bill Parcells (with Jeff Ireland as the sit in for GM). The Dolphins will be a much stronger team this season.
The 49ers had Mike Nolan as the Coach/GM for 3 years running, scot mccloughan was only our "Vice President of Player Personnel" during those three years. Scot, now that he's a GM, is not strong enough with the team to make final decisions on players he brought in because truly he probably feels indebted to Nolan for giving him his job in the first place.
We need a GM who would trade/ release JT or Alex (or tell the coaches to start one over the other) because shit, look at what the Jaguars did. They let go of their incumbent starter Bryon Leftwich and David Garrarrd came in and had a fucking great year.
The only people above Nolan are Scot Mccloughhan (who doesn't seem to put his foot down for issues) and the Yorks.
