First of all, Nolan is not making the decision at QB. People need to realize that. Mike Martz has a majority rule, if not a totalitarian one, on the QB situation. Nolan is as close to a lame-duck coach as it gets right now, he's essentially a defensive coordinator with a limited voice in overall personnel decisions.
So the fact that JTO is getting most of the reps and starts is Martz's decision. Not Nolan's. And if you think the QB depth chart is fugged up, then it's Martz to blame. Because it's his call. So if you think that Martz is making the wrong decision at QB, then I can respect that. But blame the right guy. Personally, from everything that I've seen and heard so far this preseason, JTO has better command of the offense than any of the other QBs. But that's based on a very limited sample space, and subject to change as Alex and Shaun get more familiar with the offense.
But whatever the outcome of the QB situation, Nolan is not the person who's calling the shots. So if people want someone to blame for Alex not getting more reps, then it's time to start blaming Mike Martz.
