The one good thing that's happening is that expectations are low so that will help them fly under the radar a bit. We'll see what happens.

We'll see if JT can handle the pressure and not make too many mistakes. Martz will at least make it entertaining with an attack offense, the opposite of the conservative play that haunted them last year.

I say it still comes down to two things, like I said a few months ago: pass rush and protecting the QB. I'm not sold on JSmith being in the LB position. He has zero outside speed and moves to get around people. Most of his sacks come because of good DB coverage and the fact he never quits.

Banta-Cain hasn't proven a thing. McDonald is the only guy on that line that really looks like he has any kind of true PassRush skills. All the rest are pretty much bull-rushers. The NY Giants have four stud pass rushers they can play at one time. We have...well, none. I had more hope for Lawson but they keep dropping him into coverage. They say in the 3-4, that the LBs are the real penetrators, well... you tell me who they have at LB who are GREAT pass rushers. Nobody.

So, not sold at ALL on any improvement in that area, which really shocks me. This was a MAJOR concern heading out of last season and they haven't addressed it at all, really. They'll get picked apart again if they don't get any pressure on the QB. Also, while I like our DBs, none of them have great speed which is a concern. They can't keep up with any of the real speed guys in the league.

O-line has done a pretty good job in the pre-season but it's just pre-season. Will they stay healthy? All of JTs success in the pre-season has a lot to do with him getting very little pressure. If he's pressured, he forces stuff, at least that's the early M.O., and that could get ugly.
