That was clearly designed to draw the defense offsides. JTO gave a very hard count, watched the play-clock wind down to zero, continued the hard-count, waited for the sideline to call a timeout, and finally raised his arms in confusion as the play-clock read zero. Fortunately, Nolan had called timeout just before the clock expired. If it was an actual play, then JTO would've called timeout himself, instead of just standing there barking counts while watching the play-clock expire.
I really wish that reporters/writers would be more careful when making claims like this.
