FFToolbox:

Question: what do the LSU defense and the economy have in common right now? Answer: their stocks are both way down. Curtis' own draft outlook, as a result, is also on tenuous ground. It didn't help that the free safety struggled for much of the season (as did the 7-5 Tigers, who went 3-5 in the SEC), although he did have a recent solid performance against South Carolina. Physically, Curtis is more impressive than he has been on the field, and that will help him when it comes to his NFL Draft status. He has good size at 6'3'' and 204 pounds and can run under 4.5 in the 40-yard-dash. A hard hitter, Curtis has been effective against the run in addition to being technically-sound while defending the pass. Curtis has started the past two seasons in Baton Rouge after backing up current Washington Redskins standout LaRon Landry. He will probably need similar tutelage at the next level before he is able to step in and make an impact. With his potential, however, Curtis should be off the board no later than the fourth round come next April and a strong combine could convince at least one NFL team to take him earlier than that.

SI.com:

BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter who totaled 43/2/1 as a senior after junior numbers of 54/3/6.

POSITIVES: Athletic defensive back who looks the part, yet rarely plays to hit. Imposing in centerfield, flashes on the scene and displays an excellent burst of speed. Moves well laterally, aggressive, and physically beats down opponents. Covers a large amount of area on the field and flashes on the scene, playing with a large degree of suddenness.

NEGATIVES: Inefficient and consistently takes incorrect angles to the action. Slow reacting to the pass, possesses marginal ball skills, and consistently a half step late arriving on the scene in coverage.

ANALYSIS: Taylor is an impressive looking athlete, with the physical skills to play at the next level. His football abilities do not match his reputation, as he's more athlete than player. He offers a good degree of upside, and he could be brought onto a team as an eighth defensive back/special teams player.

PROJECTION: Fourth/Fifth Round
