Would we have drafted Crabtree with Nolan here? Who knows. He always said "We draft BPA," but that is a very questionable, and I doubt it. Sure, we lucked into Crabtree at #10, arguably the best player in the draft, but fuck... they picked him.
Next, he trades our 2nd and 4th for a 1st (plus a couple lower picks this year) from Carolina. Great freaking move. No need to reach in the 2nd round for players that you can get later in the draft, like we did the last couple of years after Round 1. The best part about it is that Carolina has one of the toughest schedules in the NFL this season, so hopefully we can get a top 20 or higher pick.
Last thing I really liked this year was that we didn't grab an OT or DL just to get one. If they had players rated higher on their board, be it RB or TE, they took them. Awesome work McCloughan.
