His resume doesn't inspire too much confidence. On one hand he was the OC for Dickerson's biggest seasons, but who knows if he even had to do anything there and that's over 25 years ago. But lots of jobs where he was out after a season or two, and looking at teams he coached there were just so many lackluster and boring offenses.
There's some confidence though, in that the NFL doesn't require a very innovative attack to succeed, you just need to outwork and out-execute the defense, certainly that's Sing's mindset. Look at the 80s Bears, they handed the ball off a lot and hit you deep occasionally. Niners are hoping they can work around a talented RB and smashmouth OL.
Raye doesn't need to be that great, and in fact has a bit of a minimalist role, an OC that tries to do too much can almost be a problem......this is certainly an optimistic take.
