I think our defense will be somewhere near above average to very good, not great. Let's not forget that our best defensive player and possibly the leagues best defensive player wasn't on the field. Let's also not forget that, it's the first preseason game where most elaborate schemes and plays won't be shown AT ALL. I think with Willis in there, and Singletary's scheme this defense will be at least middle of the pack to top 10. I think this team is actually better than we'd have hoped, and Alex Smith actually looked pretty good as well. Confident, making reads, making good throws, even throwing the ball away once or twice. For the first preseason game, not bad at all. Add Gore, and add Willis to this team, with the defensive schemes we'll be running and we will be pretty solid and balanced!!
