It's almost a given whoever "wins" the competition is only going to lose their job. When the games are most important, before injuries and before teams have realized they have no chance this year, Hill will be the starter.
Then, when we're predictably 2-6 Alex can get the job and lead us on a 3 game win streak en route to 7-9.
Next summer we can look forward to a QB battle between Alex and (insert scrub FA or low draft pick) to repeat the same process next year. That's how we do it these days, until we actually do something different and get a real player at that position.
