Moreso than any other position (except DT), because the o-line involves so much technique and skill.
On one hand...guys like Bulaga and Iupati aren't putting up impressive physical numbers, but look better in pads on the field. They could either be 10-year lunchpail-type grinders, or physically-overmatched busts.
And on the other hand...guys like Campbell and Williams have terrific speed/strength numbers, but don't have the performance/experience you'd like on the field. They could end up being perennial Pro-Bowlers or the next Tony Mandarich.
But one guy who is still flying under the radar is OG John Jerry from Ole Miss. He's 6'5" 328, extremely powerful and has a ton of experience. He had a nice Senior Bowl week and is moving up the draft boards. He'd be a very nice pick in round 3, if he lasts that long.
At this point, I'm hoping the Niners get two starting-quality o-linemen in this draft. I'd be happy with T.Williams in round 1 and J.Jerry in round 3. If they live up to potential, that would be a huge upgrade to our o-line. And with the other picks in rounds 1 & 2, get the BAPs (Spiller/Best/E.Thomas/D.Williams/C.Cook/P.Cox).
