I remember the Bears '86 defense. They constantly rushed 7 guys and played man defense on the WRs. None of their defensive backs had great speed but good speed. Great bump-and-run defenders, and look what they did. So, you can afford to have solid but not great speed guys at the corners/safeties "if" you have an amazing pass rush.
