Do you want to trade both first round picks to get up to the point of drafting Clausen, who has a very high bust potential himself? Draft Tebow and spend years trying to correct his throwing motion? Grab someone in the second round or later? This is a horrible quarterback class.

Right now, the Niners' best bet is that Smith improves as dramatically as he did last year. Their second best bet is that Carr or Davis steps in and performs. Their third best bet is next season's draft, which actually has a prospect or two who doesn't stink. This is a great draft for many of the team's needs. Quarterback isn't one of them.
