That USC asked him to be the enforcer, to go for the big hit instead of the ball. If so, maybe coaching can turn it around. Keep in mind, too, that he was playing off the line of scrimmage at USC.
I still have doubts about his instincts, and you can't teach instincts. He did overrun his receivers a lot, and give up a number of big plays. 5 interceptions in 4 years with a great pass rush is sad. But I'll give him a chance. A strong safety with sideline-to-sideline skills is potentially a powerful weapon on defense, after all. It's a gamble, but maybe it's a gamble worth taking.---------------------------------------------------------
