Niners hire Tollner to fix offensive woes

The anemic San Francisco 49ers offense brought in a specialsts Tuesday when the team announced the hiring of veteran coach Ted Tollner as an offensive assistant according to a report in the San Francisco Chronicle.
Tollner, 67, will work with offensive coordinator Jim Hostler and the rest of the offensive coaches to try to resuscitate a unit that has gone 11 quarters without scoring a touchdown and is on pace to establish a franchise record for fewest points in a 16-game season.
